OK…so much for the fisherman’s tale…..but then again, maybe it has more to do with size than you think. When you are the fisherman and you are only 2 feet tall a 30 inch catfish is a giant !!!! Here you see my son and my grandson doing a little fishing. Carson loves being outside

catching catfish on fox riverHere you see my son and my grandson doing a little fishing. Carson loves being outside and loves being by the water. He is learning to love fishing and this one is a giant to him.

After this guy was filleted, he was walked a couple houses down to my house where they used the remains for fertilizer under a newly planted apple tree. Nothing goes to waste here!

Seriously, this is the time to freeze your fish remains until they are ready for your planting. We typically use full carp, I wil freeze the carp and cut it into pieces to be placed at the bottom of the hole that a plant is planted in.

You can use this for your garden, trees, shrubs …..just about anything.

And yes, we get it deep into the ground. Lately I have been using a post hole digger to loosen the ground before planting a plant, if we have a fish, we clean out the hole, place a little soil over the fish remains and then plant whatever it is that you are planting.

You would not belive how big tomatoe plants get! We had zucchinni that grow fast and are huge.

Give it a try, I know if you love fishing and gardening…. you’ll be thrilled with the results and the fact that nothing goes to waster.
